Abstract
The author describes the case of a 55-year-old diabetic male with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), which is said to be caused possibly by the anticoagulant rivaroxaban. The patient got admitted with acute-onset headache with intermittent right hemianesthesia and dysarthria. The drug was changed to oral anticoagulant acenocoumarin for the underlying prothrombotic state. GBS is considered as one of the side effects seen in 0.01 percent of patients on rivaroxaban.
