Abstract
The article presents information on the Orthohepadnavirus under the Hepadnaviridae family of viruses. It outlines the virion, genome and replication strategy of the virus. An overview of the genus members of the virus, including human hepatitis B virus, ground squirrel hepatitis B virus and Arctic squirrel hepatitis B virus, is provided.
