Abstract
This article, titled "Transient bundle branch block during the perioperative period – A meta-summary of case reports," discusses the occurrence of transient bundle branch block (BBB) during the perioperative period. The authors conducted a systematic search of case reports to analyze the characteristics, management, and outcomes of transient BBB in patients of any age. They found 23 case reports involving 24 patients, with hypertension being the most frequent comorbidity. Most patients developed BBB while under general anesthesia, and the majority had left BBB. The authors conclude that surgery can be safely continued in most patients without haemodynamic alterations, but careful monitoring and exclusion of coronary artery disease are necessary.
