Abstract
The article discusses the involvement of community practitioners in helping clients manage their household finances and gain financial capability and build assets. Topics mentioned include extraordinary income and wealth inequality in the U.S., a growth in the average wealth of white families from 1986 to 2016, and the impact of poor family economic conditions on the material and social resources available to children.
