Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the effectiveness of septoplasty with bilateral submucosal diathermy in improving nasal obstruction caused by hyperplastic turbinates and nasal septal deviation. Topics discussed include use of Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) questionnaires to evaluates nasal symptoms preoperatively and postoperatively, short-term systemic antibiotic treatment given to patients, and nasal symptoms evaluated in the questionnaire such as nasal congestion.
