Abstract
Our study was performed on CT angiographs in a number of 18 cases. The diameter of the right dorsal artery of the nose was found to be between 1.0-1.5 mm, the difference between the diameters being between 0.1-0.5 mm. We found the diameter of the left dorsal artery of the nose between 0.8--1.4 mm, the difference between the diameter of the left ophthalmic artery and the diameter of the left dorsal artery of the nose, being between 0.1-0.5 mm. The ophthalmicfacial anastomosis was located in 61.11% of cases at the middle of the medial edge of the orbit, and in 38.89% of cases, the anastomosis was located above the middle of the medial edge of the orbit. In approximately 50% of cases, the two anastomosed arteries showed a terminal dilation, the anastomosis being performed at the level of the two dilations. In 38.89% of cases, we encountered a transverse anastomosis between the two dorsal arteries of the nose, right and left, located above the root of the nose (nasal pyramid). In only one case did we find that the ophthalmic-facial anastomosis was performed with the participation of the angular artery, the dorsal artery of the nose and the frontal branch on the right side, on the left side participating the dorsal arteries of the nose, frontal and supratrochlear.
