Abstract
The current study, involves synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles, this process was performed using extract of red tea leaf as a natural reducing agent. After that, the synthesized zinc oxide was treated with nitrogen to yield nitrogen doped zinc oxide. Then these produced materials were investigated using different techniques and analytical methods such as X-rays diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), BET specific surface area and Raman spectra. The antibacterial activity of the prepared materials was screened for each of E.coli and S. aureus bacteria applying agar diffusion method. From the obtained results, it was found that, inhibition zone for neat synthesized ZnO NPS was 10.5 mm for E.coli which was more efficient than that for doped nitrogen (N/ZnO NPs), 9.0 mm respectively. For S. aureus bacteria inhibition zone was 7.5 mm for ZnO NPs and 2.0 mm for N/ZnO NPs under applying same conditions for each case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
