Abstract
The article focuses on a study on acute burns management by Wound Healing Association of Southern Africa (WHASA). Topics discussed include application of cool running water over the burn, initial assessment of burn using Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) approach by Emergency Management of Severe Burns Course, removal of hot clothing or agents to ensure patency of airway, and removal of offending or electric burn source to be removed from the patient using non-conductive object.
