Abstract
The presence of transitional epithelium is required to exclude epidermoid and dermoid cysts. At higher magnification, the glandular component is represented by a pseudostratified mucin-secreting and ciliated columnar epithelium, with scattered inflammatory cells (bottom left corner; hematoxylin-eosin, original magnification × 40). Final pathology revealed bundles of smooth muscle conforming to the periphery of a 6.5 × 4.5 cm cyst, which was lined by pseudostratified mucin-secreting and ciliated columnar epithelium, squamous, and transitional epithelium (Fig. [Extracted from the article]
