Abstract
The authors reflect on the various genetic aspects of superior growth traits in trees. They talk about the expansion in the molecular understanding of tree growth. They discuss the tree production physiology and economics of survival. They also tackle the need to take account of many organizational levels for the successful development of genetically enhanced trees.
