But when a reporter last month asked for material regarding politician Bill Clinton's travels abroad while he was a college student, as well as documents on his draft status and citizenship, the bureaucrats at State jumped to comply. In Willy Brandt, who died on October 8 at 78, Germany lost the great architect of its democratic reconstruction; Europe mourns a pioneer of détente, reconciliation and internationalism; and the world grieves a statesman of global stature and vision.
