Abstract
The article explores interpersonal and structural violence that may take place in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors of this report intersect COVID-19 and the violence pandemic that impacts poorer inner-city neighborhoods that have been historically subject to racism, public-private disinvestment, over-policing and mass incarceration. The authors go on to describe "the toxicity of social inequality," where well-being and health are impacted by factors like housing insecurity, poverty, incarceration and racism. Los Angeles county is discussed in depth.
