Abstract
The article describes key challenges confronting the development of leadership skills in construction engineering and management education and pinpoints strategies to address these challenges. These challenges include existing teaching paradigms, assessment of soft skills, ambiguity of leadership skills, demands on faculty time, attitude that soft skill development is not the responsibility of engineering educators, and strategies.
