Abstract
The article focuses on cheerleading competition has been linked with mumps outbreak and real-time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction of buccal swabs performed by the Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed mumps in both patients. It mentions CCHCS instituted an outbreak investigation focused on contact tracing using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. It also mentions measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine.
