Abstract
The article discusses the importance of improving communication between general practitioners (GPs) and receptionists in the working environment. It presents several everyday examples of how a reception staff can help improve the work environment, especially morale. Involving staff in practical aspects of the running of a practice bridges the gap between GPs and receptionists thus influencing the success of the practice and subsequently the patients' satisfaction.
