Abstract
The author discusses the efficacy of neck dissection in patients with head and neck cancer following radiotherapy in controlling residual neck nodal disease. He says that head and neck surgeons needs a reliable selection tool with clear results when performing individualized salvage neck treatment after radiotherapy. He also says that delaying a neck dissection increases the risk of cancer progression and radiation-induced fibrosis.
