Abstract
The article describes the discovery of Plectrohyla chrysopleura in Refugio de Vida Silvestre Texiguat, Honduras. It is a large endangered spikethumb frog known from the vicinity in Parque Nacional Pico Bonito. It was last documented in May 1996 when two metamorphs and two tadpoles were collected along Quebrada de Oro, one of the most remarkable sites of amphibian endemism. The first herpetological survey was conducted in June 2010 where Plectrohyla species are characterized by enlarged prepollex, uniform pale brown ground coloration and large size.
