Abstract
This review presents the current state of knowledge regarding multifunctional role of human skin antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), including (a) protection from microbial infection, (b) improvement of skin barrier homoeostasis, (c) modulation of inflammation responses, and (d) promotion of wound healing.
