Abstract
The article provides update on silicosis mortality incidence in the U.S. from 1999-2013. Topics discussed include the description of silicosis, the diagnosis of the disease, silicosis mortality cases, the progress in its elimination, the exposure of patients to the disease, and the causes and prevention measures taken for its reduction.
