Abstract
Explores the origin, development and dynamics of coastal temperate conifer rainforests in Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Use of palynomorphs in establishing an index of precipitation; Reconstruction of vegetation and fire using the percentages of pollen and spores and charcoal influx; Occurrence of grey clay at the base of the Pixie Lake core.
