Abstract
The article discusses the application of a new digital filtering method to enhance the determination of wave perturbations close to the tropopause. The new method was tested using synthetic temperature date based on reanalyzes and observed wave climatologies. The method was also substantiated with Global Positioning System (GPS) radio occultation profiles from the COSMIC mission.
