Abstract
"Impressionen über 12 Klassik-Hits von Bach bis Elgar" by Margaretha Christina de Jong is a collection of organ music that offers a unique blend of classical and pop harmonies. While some purists may dismiss it as not being "pure" classical music, those with a more open-minded perspective will appreciate the natural keyboard idiom and the suitability of the works for the organ. The collection continues the tradition of "popular classical" music and includes adaptations of well-known pieces such as "Morning" from Peer Gynt and "Caro mio ben." However, some pieces, like the adaptation of "Spring" from The Four Seasons, may be seen as straying too far from the original. The edition of the book is well-printed and includes information about the composer in multiple languages. Overall, the collection offers enjoyable and creative pieces that do not require advanced technical skills. [Extracted from the article]
