Abstract
The article presents a summary of the influenza activity in the U.S. and worldwide during May 18-September 20, 2014. It cites the influenza surveillance system of the U.S. developed in collaboration between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and federal, state, local, and territorial partners. It also reveals the low overall influenza activity in countries with tropical influenza seasonality while predominant virus type and subtype varied by country.
