Abstract
Chapter 1 of the book "Long-Term Care in Developing Countries: Ten Case-Studies" is presented. It offers information on the featured case studies which examine the emerging needs and approaches to long-term care in developing countries such as Costa Rica, Indonesia, and Lithuania. It also describes the definition and scope of long-term care. Furthermore it discusses the methodology used in choosing and organizing the case-studies.
