Abstract
A recent review by Pouyan et al. examined the effects of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) using the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) framework. The review found that LSD can alter reward processing systems to enhance reward responsiveness. However, the review also highlighted the lack of attention given to contextual factors in psychedelic studies, such as the use of music during dosing sessions. The article emphasizes the importance of considering extrapharmacological variables, or the "set and setting," in understanding the effects of psychoactive drugs. It suggests that researchers and clinicians should be mindful of context and work towards developing standardized reporting guidelines for psychoactive drug studies. [Extracted from the article]
