Abstract
The article presents a study which examined whether renal disease in type 2 diabetes is being under-diagnosed or under-treated. The objective of the research was to assess the prevalence of diabetic nephropathy (DN) and the impact of using estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) as a standard tool for early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The results indicate that eGFR is a sensitive clinical index to diagnose renal disease in diabetic patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
