Abstract
The article describes cases of vitamin K deficiency bleeding (VKDB) in four infants confined at a children's hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. All patients have been diagnosed with coagulopathy and symptomatic bleeding. It is noted that parents of each infant have previously declined intramuscular vitamin K administration at birth due to various reasons including leukemia-related concerns. The need for further studies to confirm correlation between VKDB and lack of vitamin K at birth is noted.
