Abstract
The presence of high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV) post-treatment is a more accurate predictor (substantially higher sensitivity with similar specificity) of residual or recurrent CIN2+, however (Arbyn, I Gynecol Oncol i 2005;99:S7-11). Fernández-Montolí et al. also reported post-treatment cytology and HPV data. The combination of margin and HPV post-treatment status (for cases where data for both were available) increased the sensitivity of the prediction of treatment failure to 100% (9/9) but decreased the specificity to 42%.
