Abstract
The article presents information on a study on systemic lupus erythematosus patients. HPLC with electrochemical detection was used on serum collected at baseline to analyse for markers of superoxide (SO) production. The study suggested that the emulating or augmenting activity of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) or inhibiting NADPH oxidase SO production may be the targets of therapy in proliferative lupus nephritis (PLN) patients.
