Abstract
The article focuses on photonic integrated circuits (PICs) made of silicon photonics, describing their structure and the need for advanced processing to reduce waveguide losses. Topics discussed include the fabrication platform for PICs, on-chip light distribution using silicon waveguides, and the challenges of optical failure analysis (OFA) compared to traditional physical or electrical failure analysis (PFA/EFA).
