Abstract
The article reports whether same-day discharge after elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is noninferior for safety as compared to staying overnight in hospital. A randomized trial was designed to test whether four-hour observation after PCI was noninferior. It discusses ceratin biases such as design being in favor of the early-discharge group. It shows that several factors including the bias in the trial design and small sample size present the need for a larger and better study.
