Abstract
The article offers some ideas for teaching students about eclipses. Challenges facing teachers in teaching about eclipses are indicated, including students' lack of scientifically accurate understanding of why Moon phases occur. Also discussed is the use of constructed diagrams and illustrations to teach about the cause of Moon phases and the nature of eclipses.
