Abstract
The article analyzes plasmid-mediated antimicrobial resistance determinants present among extended-spectrum βlactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae identified at a tertriary hospital in Manila, Philippines. Clinical isolates of Enterobacteriaceae that were suspected to produce ESBL based on the disc diffusion method have undergone Etest ESBL for confirmatory testing. A total of 39 isolates were found to have an ESBL gene. The distribution of antimicrobial resistance genes among the Enterobacteriaceae clinical isolates is noted.
