Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the zoonotic outbreaks of vaccinia virus (VACV) infection in cattle from Brazil to Argentina in 2011. Topics discussed include the VACV infection causing exanthematous lesions on cows and humans, comparison of the nucleotide sequence of the isolates from Argentina and Brazil and detection of neutralizing antibodies against orthopoxvirus.
