Abstract
The article presents a study which assessed the accuracy of the Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm for detecting ovarian cancer in 472 women presenting with a pelvic mass in 13 institutions across the U.S. The use of serum biomarkers HE4 and CA125 together with the Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm predicted ovarian cancer among these patients with a sensitivity of 93.8%, proving its usefulness as a tool to aid gynecologic oncologists in the triage of women with ovarian malignancies.
