Abstract
The article presents a study on use of electronic noses to analyse breath of patients undergoing endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) of varicose veins. The topics discussed include presence of volatile organic compounds in breath, use of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to analyse breath, and pyrolysis of complex organic molecules in blood and the vein wall tissue.
