Abstract
The article discusses the results of Arctic terrestrial vegetation and sea ice research that used declassified imagery from Corona/Gambit and National Technical Means satellite missions. Topics discussed include the history of the Corona and Gambit satellite programs under the U.S. Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the widespread increases in tall shrubs in upland tundra, and the evolution of surface conditions on ice floes.
