Describes the injection and trapping of a high-current space-charge-dominated electron beam into a closed cyclic accelerator. Use of solenoid coils with alternating field polarity; Magnetic dipole field errors in the injector; Beam orbits in the inflector; Discussion on the coupling of ultraviolet radiation and plasma between the sides of the switch.
