Abstract
The article presents a study related to patients with duodenal wounds from trauma centers in North and Latin America to identify risk factors for repair leakage. It discusses that hypotension at arrival, abdominal AIS, duodenal, and complex surgical procedures were identified as independent risk factors for leakage. It recommend primary repair over complex surgical procedures, including duodenal tube decompression.
