Abstract
The article presents a study on measurements of calcium (Ca) isotopes that can serve as bone metabolism accurate near-real-time detector for patients with multiple myeloma (MM). The study shows that Ca isotopic compositions in urine and serum shift to lighter values during bone resorption heavier Ca isotope values during bone formation. It reveals that Ca isotopes' natural variation can be resolved having high precision mass spectrometry with no expensive artificial Ca isotope tracers.
