Abstract
An interview with composer Robert Fokkens is presented. Topics of the interview include the concept and relation of his music album "Tracing Lines" towards the idea of cultural identity for South African musicians, the interactions between historical cultures and continental impacts of European culture to South African music and complexity on issue of his identity as a composer and artist.
