Abstract
The article presents a study discussing the multiple associated routes to the conjugation of ATG8 to single membranes (CASM), assesses its molecular features and functions in immunity. It analyzed the findings, proposed an updated and unifying mechanism for noncanonical autophagy, centered on ATG16L1 and V-ATPase.
