Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to measure the consistency between the particle volume backscatter coefficient observed by the backscattersonde and the same parameter retrieved by the theory of optical scattering applied to particle size distributions as measured by the FSSP-100. The study states that an FSSP-100 Optical Particle Counter is designed to count particles in the micron range. Moreover, it discusses the relationship between backscattersond and microphysical bulk properties.
