Abstract
The African Journal of Primary Health Care & Family Medicine published a report on the conference held by the Primary Care and Family Medicine (PRIMAFAMED) network in Malawi. The conference focused on education for primary health care in Africa and brought together participants from 18 countries and 29 institutions. The report discussed the state of postgraduate family medicine education in sub-Saharan Africa, the idea of creating an East Central and Southern Africa College of Family Physicians, the need for World Health Organization collaborating centers for primary health care in Africa, engagement with planetary health education and research, the Primary Health Care Research Consortium, the AfriWon Research Collaboration, and efforts to strengthen education for primary health care in Malawi and Zambia. The report concluded that the conference was successful and provided opportunities for networking and collaboration. [Extracted from the article]
