Abstract
The article focuses on predictive value of Aspergillus polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. Topics discussed include relevance of pulmonary complications in patients with hematologic malignancies, help provided by conventional cultures and nonculture-based serological diagnostic to identify the causative agent, and performance of diagnostic profile including blood and urine cultures and swabs.
