Abstract
The article reports on the results of a study showing that phototherapy is an effective treatment for seasonal affective disorder. Phototherapy however does not provide additional benefits when used as an adjunct to drug therapy even if it reduces the symptoms of non-seasonal depression. Remission from seasonal affective disorder was almost three times more likely after bright light therapy than with placebo.
