Abstract
The article discusses hydranencephaly, a rare congenital abnormality marked by the absence and replacement of cerebral hemispheres by a large cerebrospinal fluid pool, a rare encephalopathy occurring in-utero and presents rarely in postnatal period. Hydranencephaly can be diagnosed with the use of ante- and postnatal ultrasound, ante- and postnatal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT), and its radiological features include nearly the complete absence of cortical mantle.
