Abstract
The article shares insight on the application of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune rheumatic diseases. It cites results of clinical trials which demonstrated the efficacy and beneficial effects of CD19-targeting CAR T-cell therapy in autoimmunity, including in severe refractory SLE, cytokine release syndrome and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome.
