Abstract
The article discusses several admiralty and maritime decisions issued by U.S. federal and state courts between October 1, 2016, and September 30, 2017. It highlights several cases such as "Tabingo v. American Triumph LLC" concerning provisions of the Jones Act can to punitive damages; and "Rockett v. Belle Chasse Marine Transportation LLC" in which the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana declined that punitive damages are not available to seamen.
