Abstract
The article discusses cardiovascular safety of medication treatments for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It mentions that a news release dated April 21, 2008 suggests that a subcommittee of the American Heart Association (AHA) which reviewed the guidelines for pretreatment medical work-up of children and adolescents with ADHD calls for a revision of the guidelines. It adds that under the guidelines, such patients are required to undergo a medical workup that includes a baseline electrocardiogram (ECG).
